Engine

The range of Komatsu midi-excavators.

Compact, versatile, easy to manoeuvre, the new Komatsu Utility midi-excavators are the most complete and modern solution for the requirements of earth-moving work in city centres and wherever it is necessary to combine high-performance and productivity with compact dimensions.

The new Komatsu engine: environment-friendly, economical and powerful.

The new Komatsu engine is able to develop a net power of 50 kW/68 HP; the high displacement of the engine ensures excellent torque reserve and above all reliability. The innovative controlled-pressure combustion system guarantees gaseous emissions in line with the strictest standards.

Undercarriage

Steering

Hydraulically operated steering system that acts on the front and rear wheels by means of double rod hydraulic cylinders in the axles. The operator can select three kinds of steering by means of an electric switch: two steering wheels four steering wheels crab steering Steering radius: two steering wheels 5700 mm four steering wheels 3500 mm

Brakes

Service and emergency brakes: hydraulically controlled, with pedal, by means of two double circuit pumps, acting on oil immersed multiple discs on the four wheels. Working brakes: hydraulically controlled by means of an electric push button positioned inside the cab, acting on the four wheels. When the working brakes are operated, also the oscillation of the front axle is automatically locked. Parking brakes: negative type brakes, hydraulically controlled by means of an electric push button positioned inside the cab, acting on the rear axle. The parking brake is automatically operated every time the engine cuts off with a consequent decrease of the oil pressure.

Hydraulic system

Komatsu CLSS: hydraulic power with perfect control.

The load-sensing, closed-centre hydraulic system on the PW75R-2 allows unbeatable control and productivity. The operator may choose between two different hydraulic power control modes, aiming to achieve maximum effectiveness in specific applications by automatically providing just the right combination of speed and force.

Operator's cab

Performance with maximum comfort.

The new generation cab, mounted on special elastic supports, is more spacious (new rear compartment) and designed with great attention to detail, in order to create a silent and comfortable working environment. The new instrument panel displays various functions and alarm at a glance and there is an efficient heating and ventilation system, with partial air intake from the outside. The large window surface, sun-roof and special design of the hoods mean that maximum visibility is guaranteed throughout the entire 360° range. Easy to use PPC controls help operators of all skill levels work precisely and efficiently all day long, with minimum effort. All movements feature their own dedicated control system, and can be operated simultaneously, thus simplifying tasks and reducing working time.

Cab

Sound-proof cab, provided with safety glasses, liftable windscreen, "manhole" roof, door with safety lock, windscreen-wiper, electric horn, adjustable seat, control system and instrumentation.

Swing system

Swing System

Driven by hydraulic motor, the swing reduction gear features a double epicyclic reduction. The swing circle is lubricated with a permanent grease bath. Additionally, the swing brakes are automatic, utilizing oil-immersed discs. The swing speed is 10.2 U/min.

Standard and optional equipment

Easy maintenance.

The points where maintenance needs to be performed are grouped beneath the fully-opening hoods, making them easily accessible from ground level.

Booms and sticks
