Both models have a short swing radius, allowing the counterweight to rotate within the track width. They can work in confined spaces eliminating the risk of stopping a wall or obstacle. The spacious cab features an uncluttered floor with plenty of space for your feet as well as a luxurious, adjustable suspension seat combined with a high back and armrests designed to reduce fatigue. Due to the large glass area on all four sides, the thin cabin pillars, the wide windshield and low, compact engine cover it provides excellent visibility. Optional exterior rear mirrors help improve visibility and safety further. The instrument panel has gauges, audible alarms and lights and is located in the ease-of-view area of the operator so that he can monitor all major machine functions. The ECR28 and ECR38 models are short swing radius machines, perfect for use on tight jobsites. They offer more productivity, increased machine functions and improved safety. Both machines feature new generation Volvo diesel engines offering excellent performance, low noise output, mischievous usage of fuel and low emission exhausts. Both models provide low exhaust emissions in accordance with the latest US EPA Tier standards, To work more efficiently, the ECR28 and ECR38 have an autoidling system that lowers engine rpm to idling when controls are not used for five seconds. The system returns the engine to pre-chosen throttle speed as soon as the operator moves any controller. The system can be disabled if you need to warm up the engine. Thumb roller control for auxiliary hydraulics enables the operator to proportionally measure flow to the attachment for greater precision. The load sensing hydraulic system is the best available technology with simplicity and efficiency. The speed of hydraulic movements depends on the position of power assisted, multifunction joystick levers independent from loading cylinders at the same time.

The engine is located on the side of the machine, allowing Volvo engineers to design a large operating area for your convenience and giving you a large hood that can be opened wide enough to ensure complete and unobstructed access to all routine service points including filters and fluid levels. fuses are grouped together in the engine compartment for easy access and protected in a dustproof and damp-tight There are many high quality features to guarantee long life, such as bucket cylinder hoses which are protected inside the dipper. The O-ring Face Seal (ORFS) hydraulic connectors on all hoses and pipes provide leak free joints. The O-rings offer excellent resistance to pressure peaks, vibrations and twists. The cable steels and plugs meet high standards; they protect the cables from their rough operating environment. The cab door can be locked open, and in this position it is available within the swivel radius of the chassis to prevent damage.
