Kubota Engine
Kubota's unique E-TVCS (Three Vortex Combustion System) enables high energy output, low vibration and low fuel consumption while minimizing exhaust emissions.
Boom Cylinder
The boom cylinder is located above the boom for maximum protection, especially during breaker or dumping operation. Movement speeds of the front attachments and lifting force have been well adjusted thanks to the large diameter stick of the boom cylinder and optimal hydraulic pressure.

Straight Travel
Loading and unloading is safer through a unique Kubota hydraulic system that provides straight travel even during simultaneous operations.

Adjustable Track Gauge
For increased stability, the U17-3α tracks can be extended to a maximum of 1,240 mm. When retracting on 990 mm you can go through narrow door openings and tight working areas. And at both ends of the dozer are dozer blade extensions as standard.
ROPS/FOPS Canopy
Safety first. The canopy complies with the specifications of ROPS (RollOver Protective Structure) and FOPS (Falling Objects Protective Structure) level 1 so you can concentrate on what makes your work important.
2-Speed Travel Switch on Dozer Lever
The dozer lever features a 2-speed travel switch that allows the operator to easily choose between power or travel speed during levelling work, depending on load.

Easy Maintenance
With easy maintenance, downtime is greatly reduced and you are more productive. Routine maintenance is simple with the U17-3α as rear engine hood, side covers and lower seat cover open without need for tools. This allows quick access to the engine oil gauge, radiator, battery, air and fuel filters plus much more. Access to the underfloor hydraulics is also fast and easy because there are no bolts just lifting up the rubber band and opening the floor plate. Plus, they exist for extra strength and easier repairs of the U17-3α's hood and lateral steel covers.

Protected Front & Auxiliary Hoses
Front cylinder hoses are routed through the boom for increased protection, extended service life and greater operator visibility. Also, auxiliary hoses extend only to the top of the arm to protect them from possible damage in narrow-width bucket use.
2-Piece Hose Design
The two-piece hose configuration on dozer and boom cylinders reduces hose replacement time.
Protected Motor Hoses
Kubota has enclosed the travel motor hoses within the track frame for added protection a unique feature for mini excavators in this class.
