Hydraulic 6-in-1 Blade Models
Kubota hydraulic 6-in-1 blade can be angled to the right and left, now also tilted. This blade allows six different positions: neutral, floatup, left end top, right end high, left end front and right end forward. This feature makes leveling and backfilling work incredibly easy, even on inclines and uneven terrain so you are more productive and efficient.
Tilt blade control
The 6 in-1 blade is a true productivity enhancer, and operation still pays off now. Blades up, bottom and float functions are the same as the previous model. Operate the rocker switch on top of the shovel control unit for tilting sheet 10 upward or downward just turn the control stick with the angle to blade 25 left or right. Command all six features simultaneously for more comfortable control of landscaping, shaping and refill work.
Superior width and tilt angle
This 5' 10.9 - wide blade extends over the entire machine width, even when tipped. It can be generously tilted by 10 degrees right or left and allows the operator to easily dig trenches on a level surface
Angle Blade Models
Save time and work more efficiently. With a simple movement of the blade lever, the hydraulic angle blade can be angled right or left to push the ground to the side while the machine is moving forward – without requiring repetitive repositioning at Right Angle when backfilling trenches.
Angle Blade control
Simply operate the rocker switch at the top of the blade lever to angle the blade up to 25 left or right. Work more efficiently and save time with the floor to the side when forward pushing the machine. Drive back along the covered digging using the dozer in float position for a nice finish!
With Angle Blade
The KX040-4 angle blade excavator moves only once in a forward direction, which equates to trench backfilling its one side and meets smoothly and efficiently.
Without Angle Blade
Without the angle blade function, time-consuming, repetitive repositioning at right angles to dig is required.
Float position
Float function is a standard feature of the KX040-4. Ground finishing work can be done quickly and easily without adjusting dozer height. After backfilling, simply travel backwards along the covered trench with the dozer in float position using the flotation plane.

B. 2-speed travel switch
By setting the 2-speed travel switch on the dozer lever, dozing operations can be done faster and easier.
Auto idling system
Save fuel with Kubota's Auto-idle. When the control levers are in neutral for more than 4 seconds, the engine RPM is automatically idled. Move each control lever and the engine RPM returns instantly. This innovative feature reduces noise and exhaust emissions while reducing operating costs.
Auto down shift
The auto-down shift system allows automatic travel shifts from high to low depending on traction force and terrain. This results in smoother simultaneous operations when dozing and turning.
Fully locked hydraulic system
An engine start lock-up system prevents the engine from starting when lowering the safety levers. A Safety Lever Lockout System helps prevent unexpected excavator and attachment movements when entering or leaving the machine. One Auto House Parking Brake automatically locks the house in the position where it was located when the engine was shut off; eliminating the need for a swing lock pin. It also makes the excavator more compact and safer during transport when parked on an incline. The Two-Pattern Selection System positioned under the seat allows the operator to conveniently shift control styles in the seating area.
Centralized swivel bearing lubrication
Lubrication connections for the swing bearing, gear teeth and slew cylinder pin are conveniently grouped on the front of the house.

Proportional flow control of auxiliary circuit and maximum oil flow setting
The KX040-4 is available with a standard auxiliary circuit. Convenient thumb operation switch on the lever allows for easy proportional flow control of the Auxiliary Device, while an entry/exit switch enables simple operation of attachments requiring constant oil flow. Maximum oil-flow setting can be conveniently set from the digital panel. Up to five conveyor amounts corresponding to specific attachments can be programmed in memory on the digital panel for easy retrieval into next use.
Thumb bracket and relief valves
Factory-installed thumb bracket and hydraulics reduce mounting time, improving safety when using hydraulic attachments.
AUX1 diverter valve
Hydraulic oil can be switched to a second attachment with the diverter valve on the auxiliary hydraulic circuit without having to disconnect the main device.
Third line hydraulic return
When working with one-way hydraulic attachments, such as a breaker or brush cutter, the standard third line hydraulic return system allows direct backflow of oil into the tank without running through the control valves. This contributes to less oil contamination, reduced back pressure and higher oil flow efficiency.

Easy-open front side window
Unlike many excavator windows, the front glass window of the KX040-4 opens with ease. Simply reverse the latches on the window sides and slide up. A throttle-assist mechanism makes this action

With the convenience of a larger cup holder, you can quench your thirst and work longer without leaving the cab. Or store your cell phone. The charging port is conveniently located nearby.
Tie-down/lift points
The dozer blade's thick side plates improve the durability of the latch point. Also, use them as lifting points, along with the lift point on top of the boom, for convenient 3-point cranlifting to the KX040-4.
Front pin bushings
To maximise durability, we have introduced bushings at all the pivot points of the front attachment and connecting points on the swing bar.

All air circulation in the cab has been improved, thanks to a stronger cooling/heating unit and the positioning of six vents around the operator for better all-round comfort.
Fully flat floor
For added comfort, the cab floor is completely flat for more spacious leg and footroom.
