Kubota engine with Common Rail System and Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Muffler
The Common Rail System (CRS) electronically controls the fuel injection timing and amount in steps rather than all at once for optimal combustion. The results are great efficiency, better fuel efficiency and less engine noise. Its combination with the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) and Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Muffler also realizes the most environmentally-friendly excavator of the class called Common Rail System (CRS).
Auto idling system
Save fuel with Kubota's Auto-idle. When the control levers are in neutral for more than 4 seconds, the engine RPM is automatically idled. Move each control lever and the engine RPM returns instantly. This innovative feature reduces noise and exhaust emissions while reducing operating costs.
Auto-shift
The Auto-Shift system enables automatic travel shift from high to low depending on traction force and terrain. This results in smoother simultaneous operations when dozing and turning.

AUX oil flow with proportional flow control
Thumb-controlled switches provide quick and easy proportional flow control for AUX1 and AUX2.

Float position
You don't have to adjust the dozer height to make a clean floor area after refilling, but simply travel backwards along the covered digging with the dozer in float position. The float function is standard even on the straight blade and makes earthmoving fast and easy!

1. Deluxe suspension seat
Designed and designed to fit better and keep you working comfortably for longer, Kubota's high-height suspension seat reduces stress and minimises operator fatigue. It licks back to accommodate your individual posture; it offers weight compensation, fixed and adjustable wrist support as well as retractable seat belt.
Air conditioning (OPT)
All air circulation in the cab has been improved, thanks to a stronger cooling/heating unit and the positioning of six vents around the operator for better all-round comfort.

Safety
Safety is designed in every detail of the KX042-4. An engine start lock system prevents the engine from starting when lowering the safety levers. A Safety Lever Lockout System helps prevent unexpected excavator and attachment movements when entering or leaving the machine.
