New Holland LW80 B overview

Engine / Powertrain / Drivetrain

Power plants that offer the best of both worlds

The engines that power the LW50.B (53 HP) and LW80.B (71 HP) wheel loaders provide plenty of torque and horsepower to get the biggest jobs done quickly, while keeping emissions and fuel consumption to a minimum. You get the best of both worlds — maximum productivity at minimum cost, job after job.

Hydrostatic transmission and integrated controls improve on productivity

By providing an infinite variation of two forward and two reverse speeds, from 0 to 12.4 mph, the rugged Rexroth hydrostatic transmission gives operators the range of options they need to be as productive as possible. In both the LW50.B and the LW80.B, New Holland Construction engineers integrated the transmission control with the hydraulic controls to let operators smoothly transition from forward to reverse, and from high to low speeds. With this ergonomic design, operators don’t have to take their hands off the steering wheel to engage the transmission. The advanced technology of the Rexroth transmission allows it to automatically downshift (Auto-Kickdown), as the work load increases, letting operators focus their attention on the task at hand. As a result, work cycles shorten and productivity improves.

Superb maneuverability and mobility over any terrain

Sure-footed maneuverability over difficult terrain is no problem for these wheel loaders. Their durable front and rear planetary axles provide superior traction, aided by a self-locking front axle differential that delivers more positive traction if one wheel slips. Additionally, both wheel loaders’ large independent rear axles oscillate a full 12 degrees up or down for climbing over uneven terrain. Plus, the LW50.B and LW80.B’s frames articulate up to 41 degrees, providing a tight turning radius. Combined, these features allow the LW50.B and LW80.B to effectively negotiate whatever obstacles they may encounter, keeping the operator rock-steady and focused on the task at hand.

Wet inboard brakes maximize control

New Holland Construction’s advanced wet inboard disc braking system, built into the rear axle of both wheel loaders, is designed to be used in conjunction with the inching pedal. This enhances operator control by allowing the operator to modulate the powertrain and hydraulic systems for better overall efficiency.

Hydraulic system

An integrated quick coupler accommodates many job applications

To quickly switch from one job to another, or from one application to another, the LW50.B and LW80.B both feature an integrated hydraulic circuit with a quick-attach mounting system and front-mounted hydraulic disconnects. This enables fast and easy hookups to many different kinds of attachments that give you the versatility to quickly handle multiple job applications on any given work day. The quick-coupler pins engage at the normal pin-on position on the lift arm linkage. This ensures that you don’t have any reduction in crucial breakout forces and tip loads. Available attachments for the LW50.B and LW80.B include: General-purpose buckets Scrap buckets Light-material buckets Four-in-One buckets Pallet forks Sweepers Angle dozer Hydraulic hammers.

Operator's cab

More operator visibility = more operator confidence

Our design engineers have added a seamless front windshield with tinted safety glass and sloped the rear engine hood on both the LW50.B and LW80.B. These new features greatly increase visibility and operator confidence.

A comfortable environment that feels like home

New Holland Construction’s designers built the cabs on the LW50.B and LW80.B to be spacious and well-laid-out, so that operators could work in an efficient yet comfortable environment. There’s a variable-speed heating/ventilation system and a stereo AM/FM radio/cassette player to provide operators with personalized comfort in any season. We’ve even added a sound suppression system that insulates the operator from noise and vibration, helping to eliminate overall stresses of an extra-long day on the job.

Adjustable controls complement a new and improved, adjustable seat

Your operator’s comfort starts with our improved, hydraulically cushioned seat. It easily adjusts, up/down and front/back, to virtually any working position. We complement the new seat with a fully-adjustable steering column and independently adjustable armrests, to accommodate operators of all sizes and provide complete comfort in the cab.

Bucket and Ground Engaging Tools

High flow rates speed up cycle times

The LW50.B and LW80.B have exceptional hydraulic systems that allow operators to effortlessly lift heavy bucket payloads or large loads with the forks. With 14.4 gpm and 19.0 gpm flow, respectively, short cycle times of 6 seconds/lift, 3 seconds/lower and 1 second/dump make these wheel loaders more productive than ever before. Plus, with excellent traction-to-hydraulic ratios, New Holland Construction’s LW50.B and LW80.B wheel loaders transition faster. Faster flow rates, shorter cycle times, better traction and transition all add up to higher productivity that impacts your bottom line.

Return-to-Dig boosts productivity

Every second counts when hourly production determines your bottom line. Our Return-to-Dig feature on the LW50.B and LW80.B wheel loaders saves you time and effort. After dumping a load at full height, simply push the loader control forward and the bucket will automatically return to dig.

Z-Linkage design delivers exceptional breakout forces

With their innovative Z-Linkage loader design, both the LW50.B and LW80.B deliver exceptional breakout forces. This puts raw power behind your bucket and aids in extracting material while digging. As a result, you’ll never slow down your cycle times trying to get the bucket fully loaded.
