ABS: Wheel Anti-lock Braking System allows the driver to retain control of the vehicle steering by preventing wheel lock, primarily in emergency braking situations. Emergency brake assistance optimizes braking distance during emergency braking. Drag Torque Control maintains vehicle direction on slippery surfaces during downshift phases (except AWD). Brake harmonization prevents the feeling that the trailer is "pushing" the truck during various braking phases. Brake warnings include: Light indicating that a brake pad is worn Light indicating that the brake temperature is too high Light indicating degraded braking performance. Combined activation of brakes and retarders couples together various braking systems: service brakes, Optibrake engine brake, and other retarders. Tilt protection prevents tractors without a trailer from tilting forward during a braking application.

ASR: Anti-Slip Regulation allows the driver to retain control of the vehicle on slippery surfaces. The disc brake wear monitoring system provides a disc brake and pad wear warning, preventing maintenance from becoming more expensive by replacing them when they are worn. It also prevents brake imbalance between axles, tires, and wheel balancing with the anti-slip system. HSA: Hill Start Aid activates when the accelerator is pressed in for a few seconds or when the brake pedal is released on level hill starts. A push button activates and deactivates this function.
