Amazone UX 11200 (21) overview

Amazone UX 11200 (21) features overview

ISOBUS offers many advantages

All AMAZONE ISOBUS sprayers are certified to UT 2.0 in accordance with the AEF conformity test. This means that these AMAZONE machines can be operated via any terminal which is available on the market that has also been certified according to UT 2.0. In addition, with an ISOBUS compatible SectionControl licence, AMAZONE ISOBUS sprayers can be switched via a third-party ISOBUS terminal.AMAZONE’s AMATRON 3, CCI 100 and AMAPAD terminals and all AMAZONE ISOBUS machines support the AUX AEF functionality. This means, that, for instance, the keys of an existing AUX-N compatible multi-function joystick can be reprogrammed to suit an individual’s needs. So, any function is there, exactly where the operator wants it to be.

AMASPRAY+ – simple and versatile

AMASPRAY+ enables the simple yet fully automatic regulation of the UG. Switches, integrated into the operator terminal, make possible the isolation of 5, 7 or 9 boom part-width sections. AMASPRAY+ has digital pressure indication and digital tank level indication. It registers both, the quantity sprayed and the area worked. The actuation of the hydraulic functions though is carried out via the tractor control valves. AMASPRAY+ also visually indicates boom tilt and locking. As an option, AMASPRAY+ enables one sided folding of the boom or alternatively the access to the boundary and end nozzle spraying systems. The AMASPRAY+ operator terminal with serial Interface can also be used for the automatic documentation (ASD) and part area site-specific application.

Electrically-controlled TG valve chest

For actuation using either ISOBUS or AMASPRAY+, modern valve chest technology is utilised. The part-width boom sections are switched, on and off, quickly and drip-free via electric motor valves with pressure relief. In all situations the spray rate is exactly and quickly controlled directly via the computer and so negating the need for any mechanical equal pressure control.

ISOBUS terminals

ISOBUS is the name for a communication standard, valid world-wide, between operator terminals, tractors and implements on the one hand and agricultural office software on the other hand. That means with one terminal you can control all ISOBUS compatible implements.

AmaPilot multi-function joystick

Actuating the boom and control chest functions is particularly comfortable via the AmaPilot multi-function joystick. All the functions in the operation menu can also be actuated via the AmaPilot multi-function joystick or other ISOBUS joysticks (AUX-N).

Special characteristics of AMAZONE ISOBUS sprayers

Up to three user profiles and individual interfaces for different drivers can be created. The operation menu can be optimally matched to the differing numbers of keys on other ISOBUS terminals. Any machine function can be freely positioned in the menu set-up. Complete documentation via TaskController (ISO-XML). As an alternative to documentation via TaskController, the simple recording of field data (worked area, required time and applied rate) is possible. The recorded data can then be captured as a screen shot and then exported via a USB stick.

2-terminal solution

A twin-terminal solution with the simultaneous use of a tractor ISOBUS terminal and AMATRON 3 or CCI 100 is recommended if the tractor terminal does not support the Section Control function or if you intend to use the sprayer via AMATRON 3 or CCI 100 and a separate screen.

Even more precision with GPS-Switch, GPS-Track and GPS-Maps

Available as optional equipment: GPS-Switch automated headland and part-width section control, GPS-Track parallel guidance and GPS-Maps part-area site specific application map function.

GPS-Switch for AMATRON 3

This GPS assisted operator terminal system automates the exact control of the machine on the headlands, around the field border and when spraying in wedges. The working width and the arrangement of the part-width sections are taken into account. The automatic GPS-Switch part-width section control offers precision, comfort and safety: simply select the desired degree of overlap and leave the GPS-Switch in automatic mode. So, even in difficult circumstances, such as wider working widths, limited visibility at dawn or dusk, or in high crops, the job can be mastered. In addition: you save up to 5 % on crop protection agents, whilst at the same time safeguarding the environment and can fully focus on monitoring the sprayer.

GPS-Maps for AMATRON 3

The additional module enables GPS-based processing of application maps in a Shape file format. Both in AMABUS, and also in ISOBUS mode. The direct application rate can be used or the amount of spray agent. With AMATRON 3, the spray rates can still be adapted. Task Controller is available as standard and enables the processing of application maps in ISO-MXL format, both in AMABUS and also in ISOBUS mode, even without GPS Maps.

Future proof technology

The serial interface (RS232), that enables use to be made of sensor technology (e.g. Yara N-Sensor) or different GPS terminals, is integrated, as standard, into the comprehensive equipment level provided by AMATRON 3 and AMASPRAY+. So, depending on the target and the terminal, several possibilities are offered, both for part-area site specific application from a map or using a sensor. You, as the operator, can decide for yourself on the right system for your conditions and application.

Documentation with ASD

Starting from field records, the automatic plot related documentation (ASD) offers the possibility to exchange, via a blue tooth interface, application plans and actual spray programmes with the AMASPRAY+ and AMATRON 3 operator terminals. Documentation becomes more precise and simpler. Many hand-written steps are no longer required. ASD now enables documentation in conjunction with many major field record database providers in Europe. The ASD interface is available as an open standard for all device and software providers. With ASD, AMAZONE offers a practical, value for money documentation system for all types of farming.

The new dimension in control and monitoring

With the AMAPAD operator terminal, AMAZONE offers an entirely new and high-class solution for GPS application such as automated GPS based part-width section control and Precision Farming applications. AMAPAD features an especially ergonomic, 12.1" touch screen. With the unique "Mini-View" concept, applications that do not need to be actuated but which, however, need to be monitored, are clearly shown at the side. If needs be, these can be enlarged by "finger tip" widening. The possibility also exists to customise the display, a feature which rounds off the exceptional layout of this operator terminal. In addition to GPS-Switch pro part-width section control, a high-quality professional manual light bar guidance system is also installed as standard. GPS-Track can also be upgraded to an automated steering system.

Even better with Profi-fold!

Profi-fold – flexible and comfortable. All the hydraulic functions can be carried out safely and simply via the ISOBUS terminal in the tractor cab. The multi-function joystick makes handling especially comfortable.

Pre-select folding

One-sided boom folding is possible through either an AMASPRAY+ or ISOBUS terminal using the tractor spool valves. The high level of flexibility offered by the pre-select folding function enables all part width sections to be folded individually. Both the left and right-hand sides can be folded in separately and independently of each other in order to adapt to any circumstances in your fields.

Camera system to the rear of the UX trailed sprayer

The optionally available camera system mainly serves for safety when manoeuvring. It is also a super aid when monitoring the function of the nozzles directly behind the machine. The 8 inner nozzles are detected by the camera. This is ensured even in rain, twilight or in darkness via infrared LEDs and a heated lens. The high resolution, antiglare monitor is backlit and can also display two cameras at once. As an alternative, pictures from the camera can also be displayed on the CCI ISOBUS terminal via the CCI Cam camera function.

Tank

Tank – beautiful yet smart!

The compact tank is made from polyethylene to be particularly strong and long lasting. The completely smooth inner and outer walls of the tank with rounded corners and no nooks and crannies ensure quick and easy internal and external cleaning. Important: Residual spray volume is kept to a minimum due to the special shape of the tank bottom. No need for internal baffles due to the optimised conical shape. For instance, during tractor braking, the liquid in the tank is concentrated at the centre thus preventing any surging. The result: Safety even at high forward speeds. The shape of the UX tank and the compact AMAZONE boom ensure a low centre of gravity and very compact transport dimensions. In addition, the boom is supported close to the back of the wheels using the parallelogram suspension.

Tank design: sleek and functional

The spray agent tank features are a low centre of gravity and compact dimensions. The optimised tank geometry results in minimum residual spray volumes of less than 20 litres. The smooth inner walls of the tank ensure a quick and easy cleaning. The twin, centre of gravity neutral, fresh water tanks, with a capacity of in total 900 litres, are mounted between the mudguards. All the controls are conveniently located at the front under a cover. The cover prevents the operator station from becoming dirty and offers a very good accessibility for quick and effective maintenance.

Spraying

Induction bowl and power injector

The high-performance induction bowl features a volume of 55 l and ensures the safe induction of crop protection agents. The circular ring line, including an additional nozzle within the induction bowl, means that powdered or granulated spray agents can be quickly and safely dissolved and simultaneously quickly inducted via the power injector. The induction bowl is completely dust-proof when closed so that no dirt is allowed to penetrate and no liquid to escape. Also, with the Ecofill port, transferring small amounts from large canisters is made considerably easier.

Canister rinsing with the aid of the induction bowl

Problem-free cleaning of the spray agent canisters and thus also making full use of the canister contents is possibly by flushing with the rotating nozzle and the closed induction bowl can also be rinsed for self-cleaning.

Infinitely variable, hydraulic agitation intensity

The intensity of the hydraulic agitation can, steplessly, be reduced down to nothing in order to avoid any foaming of the crop protection agent or to facilitate spraying out the remaining tank contents. On AMAZONE crop protection sprayers the un-sprayed plant protection agent is delivered back via the return flow into the suction system. In this way any unintended agitation of the spray liquid via the return flow is prevented.

Cleaning equipment for both inside and out

Three powerful rotating nozzles clean the spray agent tank. Short pipe runs and the smallest cross sectional areas ensure minimal residues. With the spray lance of the exterior wash down kit, the outside of the crop protection sprayer can be thoroughly cleaned after use whilst still in the field.

The DUS pressure recirculation system – proven more than 10,000 times

The AMAZONE DUS pressure recirculation system guarantees the safe circulation within the entire system. When starting the spraying operation all the hoses including the spray lines are filled under pressure in the reverse direction with the mixed spray agent. This means the spray lines are always full and immediately ready to use over the entire working width. There is no waiting on the headland. Every time individual part-width sections are shut off, during the turning operation and during transport, the spray liquid circulates continually thanks to the pressure recirculation system. This reliably prevents deposits, blockages or segregation in the spray lines. The concentration of the spray agent always remains constant right up to the nozzles, so the start of spraying is carried out without any problems after, for example, a change of ingredients. During the cleaning operation, fresh water flushes the spray lines out right up to the nozzles without any spraying being necessary. During this cleaning procedure the concentrated spray liquid is returned back to tank via the pressure recirculation system leaving the spray lines clean.

Including DUS pro high pressure recirculation

Standard equipment with AmaSwitch and AmaSelect includes the DUS pro high pressure recirculation system. DUS pro prevents deposits in the conical spray line and ensures an even spray agent concentration. Thanks to the pressure recirculation system, all the nozzles are ready for operation over the entire boom width. In addition, when switching off individual part-width sections and when turning or during transport, the spray agent remains in constant circulation. In this way deposits, blockages and any potential demixing in the spray lines is safely prevented.

UX 11200 Trailed Sprayer

The UX 11200 trailed sprayer, with its enormous tank volume of 11,200 litres, can cope easily with the high pressure to cover the acres. With the Super-L2 sprayer boom, in working widths from 24 to 40 m and its triple pump system, with a fill capacity of 900 l/min, it is perfectly suited both for enterprises with large field sizes and also for crops with particularly high application rates.

Boom

UX Trailed Sprayers

UX trailed sprayers, in tank capacities from 3,200 to 11,200 litres, are characterised by their robust and operator-friendly design. Equipped with either Super-S2 or Super-L2 sprayer booms, and in working widths from 15 to 40 m, the UX models offer the highest of efficiency.

Top features

Profile steel frames that are as strong as an oxLightweight spray tank with favourable centre of gravity and absolutely smooth wallsMultiple axle and drawbar steering versions of choiceSprayer booms from 15 to 40 m in super-light, super-strong and super-compact profile designParallelogram suspension of the multi-shock damped boomOption of Profi-fold for flexible boom folding and DistanceControl for improved boom guidanceAmaSwitch or AmaSelect individual nozzle switching as an option – for 50 cm part-width section controlInduction bowl with power injector for quick, safe and precise operationMaintenance-friendly self-priming piston diaphragm pump which can be run dryOptional Comfort-Pack for automatic filling, cleaning and switchover procedures

The frame – strong and yet elastic!

The wide profile steel frame made from high grade steel, the compact tank and the robust boom technology all add together to provide the necessary strength. All edges are rounded off; all hoses are perfectly routed so that they are protected inside the frame.

Drawbar damping protects the boom

The drawbar supplied as standard with a shock absorption system minimises the horizontal to and fro movement within the base machine. The sprung steel centre boom section (on 4-section fold booms) is a further measure towards protecting the boom when travelling quickly on the road or in the field.

Simultaneously superbly robust and superbly light

Thanks to the special profile design, AMAZONE booms are at the same time superbly light and superbly strong. The boom working widths from 15 to 40 metres allow the optimised matching of the sprayer to the structure of the farm. High-grade quality ensures a long operational life even over very high acreages.

Everything shipshape!

The boom locates safely in the transport hooks. There is no rattling or wear susceptible boom that rests on the tractor, making travelling fast not a problem.

Fully automatic folding in and out

Superbly narrow transport width of just 2.40 m on all three-fold Super-L2 booms with working widths of 21, 24, 27 and 28 m. An amazing transport width of only 2.60 m on all four-fold Super-L2 booms with working widths of 27, 28, 30, 32, 33, 36, 39 and 40 m (UX 6200: 2.80m). The Super-L2 boom is automatically folded fully in or out via oversized hydraulic rams. The folded in booms are positioned down the sides of the tank, and the boom is fixed safely, without movement, on the transport locking device, with any shock loads being absorbed via the parallelogram suspension even in the transport position. The multiple-folded steel profiles of up to 220 mm make the Super-L2 boom superbly robust.

As standard the Super-L2 booms are equipped with:

an over-long central pendulum for the parallel guidance of larger booms, combined spring and damping elements for shock absorbed suspension to damp down the vertical roll movements, a large dimensioned integrated damping system consisting of brake plates and buffer blocks to damp down horizontal yaw movements, spring plates to damp down movement in direction of travel (only four-fold booms).

Stainless (VA) steel hydraulic fittings

The hydraulic fittings are made from high-grade steel for a longer service life and an improved resale value.

Liquid fertilisation – mature solutions for high outputs

The AMAZONE UX is especially suited for liquid fertilising. The use of high grade plastic material, good paintwork, and the virtually exclusive use of stainless steel ensures a long life even with liquid fertiliser operation. In conjunction with the Super-S2 boom, a separate drag hose unit is available. The self-contained aluminium profiles can be attached with a few hand clamps. Drag hoses offer a risk-free late top dressing with liquid fertiliser, and stainless steel weights help keep the position of the drag hoses within the crop. For coarse droplet distribution of liquid fertiliser, AMAZONE offers multi-hole nozzles (3 or 7 holes) or even FD sluice nozzles. On request, the Super-L2 boom with TG valve chest can be equipped with a second spray line, allowing the staggered nozzle bodies to fit drag hoses at a spacing of 25 cm.

Frame

Hydraulic height adjustable jack for increased comfort

A height adjustable jack is integrated in the frame and with its convenient optional hydraulic height adjustment makes coupling to the tractor quick and easy. A manual mechanical retainer has been fitted as standard.

Traction compensator

The UX 11200 also excels on heavily sloping ground: the traction compensator in the hydro-pneumatic axle suspension enables a temporary increase of the drawbar support load from 3 to 4 t with a filled machine. When the machine is partly filled, the support load increases by up to 30 %. This is possible due to a setting valve in the hydraulic system which controls the level of pressure in the suspension of both axles.

Axle

AutoTrail with slope compensation

As an option, AutoTrail steering can now also be equipped with a tilt sensor for fully automatic slope compensation. This functions with both axle steering and drawbar steering. As the steering angle, depending on the severity of the terrain, has to be possibly adjusted, the intensity of the setting can be altered at any time via the joystick. One particular help offered by AutoTrail is that, in and around tight yards, the drawbar steering can also be released when the booms are folded in.

AutoTrail axle steering

The AutoTrail axle steering ensures especially smooth boom guidance and perfect stability. The track-following capability, particularly when in the reversing position, is outstanding. This steering of the axle is also possible in the folded-in position.

GPS-Track for AMATRON 3

The GPS-Track parallel driving aid turns out to be an enormous advantage for easy orientation in fields without tramlines or on grassland. It features various track modes, such as A-B line and contour travel, along with an obstacle function. The bouts are numbered all the way across. The deviation from the true line is shown on the display, and unmistakable steering recommendations help keep you in the track. Additionally, the distance to the next tramline is shown precisely, providing the ideal guide, for example, when locating the correct maize row.

SingleTrail self-steering

As standard, the chassis is equipped with a trailing self-steering rear axle providing good driving behavior and little track damage. For the SingleTrail self-steering system, the front axle is rigid while the second one is steered and follows passively, resulting in very good driving behavior without “scrubbing” the tires. When reversing, the second axle has to be locked, and in road transport, it should also be locked. In tight turns and slow travel, the axle can be unlocked.

DoubleTrail – fully automatic axle steering

Optionally, the UX 11200 can also be equipped with the electronically-controlled DoubleTrail axle steering. This positive, electronic steering of both axles is of special importance for row crops, such as potatoes, sugar beet, or in small fields to prevent track damage. The first axle now truly follows the tracks of the tractor’s rear wheels, while the second axle follows the track of the tractor’s front wheels. In this way, the tracking performance perfectly matches the tractor, and above all, the sprayer boom ride is unaffected by any steering movements. In road transport, the first axle is locked, and the second one is actively steered by the system.

Pump

Strong, shock absorbed drawbar!

All drawbars - no matter whether steered or rigid, upper or lower hitched - are provided with the drawbar shock absorbance system, an important design element in the UX. Minimising the to and fro movements between frame and drawbar, it also protects the booms and prevents any rocking movement of the tractor, keeping the operator comfortable. Towing eyes with 40 or 50 mm (50 mm also as a pivoting option) or the modern K 80 ball coupling ensure suitability for any tractor type. As an alternative to PTO shaft drive, the UX can be equipped with a hydraulic pump drive. Largely unaffected by engine revs, the pump is driven at a gentle, constant speed. LS Profi-fold (load sensing) with active accumulator provides an error-free operation of all hydraulic functions such as AutoTrail and DistanceControl.

Standard with Profi-fold:

Large filter in the oil circuit for safe, reliable function. Now for the first time, there is one solution that responds to all the demands on the pump drive, boom or steering hydraulics – a special load-sensing hydraulic system (LS Profi-fold). This means that AMAZONE now provides a hydraulic pump drive that is not dependent on tractor size.

Intelligent, hydraulic pump drive

For the pump drive, boom hydraulics, and the DoubleTrail steering, with the proviso that a Load-Sensing system is necessary on the tractor, all the functions can be operated especially comfortably via an ISOBUS terminal. The positive benefit also is the automatic setting of the pump speed with regard to each operational situation. When operating in the field, the pump runs at a gentle 480 rpm; sufficient capacity for the agitation and normal application rates. Whilst travelling on the road, the pump speed is automatically reduced to 400 rpm as the only demand is for a supply to the agitation. When filling via the suction hose, then the full pump capacity is provided by increasing the speed to 540 rpm. All the values are pre-selected once by the user, but it is also possible to change them at any time. The system relieves the stress on the operator and provides a particularly sensitive connection to the pump and the diaphragms.

High-capacity pumps

The multi-cylinder equipped piston diaphragm pumps provide at the same time a higher suction capacity for the injector via the 4” suction port (900 l/min) and hence a more even transfer and a smoother run of the pump. The three compact pumps, with a total output of 750 l/min, have an extremely long lifespan, will run dry, and are also liquid fertiliser-proof. As an alternative to the standard PTO drive, the UX 11200 can also be equipped with a hydraulic pump drive where the pumps are driven completely independently from the tractor’s engine revs. An additional practical advantage is its maintenance-friendly position and easy accessibility on the drawbar. Changing the diaphragms is possible without dismounting the pumps. The standard 3” bowser fill port for pressure filling guarantees, with its reduced filling times, high efficiency.

Nozzle

Electric boundary nozzle switching

In order to extend the normal working width, an asymmetrical nozzle can also be switched on. This is particularly useful if the distances between tramlines are not precise enough. If a one metre buffer zone around the edge of the field needs to remain unsprayed due to distance constraints, end nozzle switching can be used. For precision border spraying between two sensitive crops, the boundary nozzles can be used to make sure the spray pattern is accurately defined.

Exact switching in 50 cm part-width sections

The decisive benefit of this individual nozzle switching is the possibility to operate with small part-width sections to be even more precise in wedge-shaped areas, short work and on the headland. The amount of overlap is significantly reduced on the headland, for instance, by up to 85 % less when compared with conventional Section Control part-width section switching. In this way, depending on field shape, boom width and number of part-width sections, the combination of GPS-Switch and AmaSwitch results in considerable savings of spray agent compared with the usual crop protection techniques used up to now. If AmaSwitch or AmaSelect are combined with GPS-Switch automatic headland and part width Section Control, the individual nozzles are automatically switched in 50 cm part width sections.

Triple nozzle body, with electric on/off switching

The technology behind AmaSwitch is based on a conventional, manually-rotated, triple nozzle body with electric individual on/off. The opening and closing is achieved via an electric valve which is fixed directly onto the nozzle body. So, in conjunction with GPS-Switch, it is possible to control the boom very precisely in 50 cm part-width sections in wedge-shaped fields and on the headland. In addition to the automatic switching using 50 cm part-width sections, it is possible to configure the amount of part-width sections from choice.

The most up-to-date application technology

The AmaSelect individual nozzle control consists of a 4-fold nozzle carrier with electric on/off switching enabling, additionally, the changeover from nozzle to nozzle. In this way, the system offers in addition to the 50-cm part width section control which can be automatically switched via GPS-Switch, the electrical changeover between the four fitted nozzles via the operator terminal. An additional possibility is the automatic changeover or switching on of a nozzle. By entering in the terminal the optimum pressure range of every individual nozzle within the 4-fold nozzle carrier, the system automatically changes over the nozzles according to these predetermined factors. This offers the possibility, for instance when leaving the optimum pressure range of a nozzle, to switch on a second nozzle or to changeover to a larger nozzle. However, if desired, any number of part-width sections can be freely configured to include any number of nozzles. Just for farmers or agricultural contractors with different tramline systems, a simple matching of the nozzle switching with the relevant working width is possible.

With 50 cm or 25 cm nozzle spacing

As an option, the AmaSelect nozzle carrier can also be equipped with an off-set kit giving 25 cm nozzle spacing. This, in conjunction with special 80° nozzles, offers the benefit of reducing the target height above crop to below 50 cm. In addition, this version can be supplemented by the HighFlow option for applications with extremely high application rates. As standard, AmaSelect is equipped with DUS pro high pressure recirculation and LED individual nozzle lighting.

Less drift also at higher wind speeds

With the air-assisted injector nozzles, crop protection agents can be applied with very little drift. They are universally usable in all crops and all classifications. Because of the coarse droplet application, these nozzles can also be used in higher wind speeds. AMAZONE offers the agricultural sector a wide range of nozzles from Agrotop, Lechler and Teejet.

Single and multi-nozzle bodies

The nozzle bodies with integrated diaphragm non-return anti-drip valves fit up into the boom profiles reliably preventing any dripping at the nozzle. Self-adjusting bayonet fixings ensure a tool-less quick nozzle change. The triple nozzle bodies are suited to frequent nozzle changes due to different applications and crops. Nozzle protection tubes, as standard on the outer sections, or, if desired, over the entire boom working width, ensures protection for long injector nozzles and multiple nozzle bodies.

Injector nozzles

Injector nozzles (ID, TTI) have a relatively coarse droplet spectrum and are particularly versatile with regard to their field of application. A pressure range of 2 to 8 bar is possible. If coverage quality is at the foreground of the application, the use of standard or anti-drift fine droplet nozzles, such as XR or AD, is recommended. Special care is required here due to the tendency to drift above 3 bar. A good compromise is provided by the modern ID-K or Airmix compact injector nozzles. These have relatively little drift, but do not have too coarse a droplet spectrum and are operated at 2 to 4 bar. When it comes to special coverage qualities the double flat fan nozzle is an interesting alternative: the AVI Twin from Agrotop also produces droplets that are not too fine.

LED individual nozzle lighting

Professional work lighting is today the basis of a flexible, output-increasing solution to operating in twilight and at night. Illumination of the spray fans ensures complete control of the nozzle function at just one glance. LED individual nozzle lighting picks out each individual spray fan. An absolutely immediate assessment of their operation down to the very last nozzle on the boom can be made.

LED work lights

Boom lighting is provided by two LED work lights mounted in the centre of the boom and, from here, due to their wide-reaching illumination; prove to be a particularly effective execution. Two further LED work lights to give additional background lighting can be mounted up on the platform.
