High Performance Power Train

The Caterpillar 3114T turbocharged diesel engine, full-match torque converter, countershaft power shift transmission and heavy duty axles form a responsive, reliable and fuel efficient power train with more useable rimpull. Environmental package lowers exhaust emissions below worldwide regulatory directives. A new turbocharger improves engine response and reduces smoke. New Low-Speed transmission option for higher engine speed at low travel speed.

Caterpillar 3114T Engine

The IT24F operates at full-rated net power of 78.3 kW (105 hp). The 3114T turbocharged diesel engine delivers long power strokes and high torque rise. Improved turbocharger technology provides more response and reduces visible smoke emissions. Exhaust emissions have been reduced and are much lower than worldwide emission standards including the EEC 88/77 Directives. Special balancers make the 3114T one of the smoothest running 4-cylinder engines available. High pressure, unit-injection fuel system with individual unit injectors provide exceptional fuel economy and low emissions. Deep oil pan and low-mount pump allows operation on slopes to 35 degrees.

Provides the most efficient application of engine power for maximum rimpull and responsive implement hydraulics. Maximizes both fuel efficiency and performance.

Cat Power Shift Transmission

Built rugged for highly reliable service in tough applications. The Cat Powershift Transmission is an electrically-controlled countershaft transmission providing four forward and three reverse speed ranges. Direction and travel speed can be changed on-the-go. Standard Autoshift controls transmission shifting at optimum ground speeds for easier operation and maximum machine performance. A new Low Speed Transmission option uses a different gear ratio for lower gears to provide slower travel speed with higher engine speed. The result is better match with attachments that demand high hydraulic flow.

8-Bar Parallel Design

Linkage simplifies keeping forks level throughout the range of lift, without adjustment. Longer lift arms, taller front tower and higher pivot point offer more lift height and reach than conventional loaders. Superior load control is provided by more tilt capacity than lift in almost all positions. Wider lift arm spacing enhances visibility to working implements.

Operator Station

Ergonomically designed for total machine control in a comfortable, spacious environment. All controls, levers, switches and gauges are positioned to maximize productivity. Pilot hydraulic controls provide low-effort, quiet operation. Bonded glass windshield with silicon joints enhance visibility. Ground-level door release for added convenience.

This new F-Series Cab provides enhanced visibility, ergonomic controls, new pilot hydraulic controls and offers a wide range adjustment to fit any operator.

Visibility

More glass and fewer obstructions are the key to the IT24F’s excellent all-around visibility. The height of the cab and location of the operator station were carefully matched to provide optimum upward visibility for more positive operation at maximum dump height. Loading high sided trucks and hoppers is easier. Clear silicon seals and bonded glass on the windshield help maximize forward visibility. New, longer wiper arms provide clear visibility in adverse conditions.

Easy Operation

New pilot hydraulic controls give the IT24F uncompromised ease of operation and precision. Effort required to move the levers is low enough to help prevent fatigue, but tight enough to provide optimum “feel” and modulation. Load sensing steering allows full-time positive control of steering without robbing hydraulic power from lift cylinders.

More Seating Options

There is a wide choice of seat options. The Cat Contour Series Seat, right, is the premier seat option and is designed for maximum comfort and fully-adjustable support. Ergonomically shaped seat cushions reduce pressure on the lower back and thighs, while allowing unrestricted arm and leg movement. Even the arm rest angle is adjustable.
