Injection
More Innovation
The QSK23 features our most advanced technology. The engine’s High-Pressure Injection fuel system (HPI) works at pressures of up to 29,000 psi (141,590 kPa), resulting in more complete combustion across the entire power curve – with the lowest fuel consumption in its class. All while meeting the varying degrees of emissions compliance in every corner of the globe.
More Robust Features
The HPI fuel system provides optimum combustion for low emissions and excellent fuel economy. The electronic control system allows users to tailor fuel-system calibrations to application requirements, including CENSE electronic monitoring, which reads engine operating conditions and automatically adjusts for peak operation. The high-speed Electronic Control Module (ECM) is isolated from detrimental vibration loading, and the wiring harness is fully sealed to optimize reliability. A one-piece cast-iron block with wide cylinder spacing provides long life with excellent rebuild capability. Single-piece ferrous-cast ductile iron pistons with twin-piston cooling nozzles provide maximum durability and reliability, delivering 10 percent longer life-to-overhaul than two-piece pistons.
